Don't think you are able to be romantic? Think again. If you've taken pleasure from your partner's reaction after pleasing her in some way, then you my friend are a romantic. If you've ever enjoyed a love ballad or song playing on the radio, you are a romantic.

So if there are a lot of guys out there who are romantics at heart, why do women think men are clueless about romanticism? The answer is that they're either unable to express them, or feel too awkward about it. Keep in mind that she's not requiring you to be open about these feelings to everyone, just to her.

To be a romantic, you must do things that will give her a little happiness. Your effort at being romantic should have spontaneity and surprise. But not always.

The two of you can also plan to do something romantic together. Here are a few suggestions on how to express your hidden romantic side:

1.) Make an effort to escape the routine that is running your life now. The start of a relationship is normally associated with romance because so much change is happening to both of you. Your relationship at the beginning was a radical change from your usual routine. Everything seemed to be new, exciting, and so was romantic.

That romantic feeling of excitement can be recaptured by doing new things together. Don't take her out on the same old dates that you always do. Look for events and things in your local newspaper that you've never done and give them a try. Always make an effort of doing something that is new.

2.) Try to express love in as many small ways as you can. This can mean sneaking up from behind and suddenly embracing and kissing her. Or leaving little love notes in places where she's likely to find them. Place a few notes in a book that she's reading or in one of her favorite magazines.

Is she going to do some traveling without you (on a business trip or seeing her parents)? Try putting a box of chocolates and a card near the bottom of her suitcase for her to discover after she's left.

3.) Completely surprise her with something totally off the wall. Give her a romance novel that casts you and her as the main characters. The hard way to do this is to write the novel yourself.

But you could do it the easy way by downloading a romance novel that has an expired copyright (is in the public domain). With a text editor, do an automated search and replace operation that exchanges your names with the names of the main characters (lovers). Now you can print it out on a printer and get it bound in a hard cover.

To get your romance novel in the public domain, search for "romance novels" +"public domain" at Google. There should be plenty of free downloads.

To have the book bound, go to Google and enter "bind a book" as the search query. You will find plenty of tutorials for doing it yourself and plenty of book binding services.

So now you've got just a few of the many ways of romancing your partner. What I've suggested here is only a small fraction of the many ways to be romantic. Keep working at it and it will become second nature before you know it.
